Weekend outdoor inspiration April 16, 2021

Spring break is over and virtual school starts Monday! Here we go again. You might need to make sure you get out a lot this weekend for your own sanity, so here’s your WEEKEND OUTDOOR INSPIRATION!

HIKING

Waterdown North Wetlands Trail, Waterdown ON
This trail is an easy, relatively short (3km), family friendly trail. Features include a creek (Grindstone Creek) & a boardwalk through wetlands. If you stay on the main trail it is stroller friendly. There are a few side trails to take as well, but they are not paved. The parking lot for Waterdown North Wetlands trail is just south of Joe Sams Leisure Park.

Peter Street Trail, Hamilton ON
Thanks to FB group member Monica Roddey for this suggestion! This is an in-out trail that is part of the Bruce Trail, so you can make this as long or as short as you want, just turn back around when you’re ready. It’s stroller/bike friendly, there’s multiple waterfalls to see, playgrounds and picnic tables. Very family friendly. Parking is off Ackland St (don’t look for a Peter St, the trail was named after a person named Peter Street).
