Last weekend for Free Family Fishing, meaning you do not need a license to fish anywhere in Ontario, July 3 to July 11, 2021

City of Hamilton, Summer Supie Program
July 5 to August 27, 2021. This is one of the best programs ever. Very fond memories from my childhood at local parks hanging out with the supie’s. Find a participating neighbourhood park in Hamilton and a supie will have activities for kids. All free. Activity blocks are 45 minutes long and led at 11:30 am, 1 pm, and 2:30 pm. Bronte Creek Provincial Park: Don’t forget Bronte Creek (and all Provincial Parks) are offering free day use Monday to Thursday until September. So here’s some suggestions on what you can do from the Bronte Creek staff. Also – check out my reviews of all the trails at Bronte here

Things to do:

  1. Camp overnight in our campground off Bronte Road.
  2. Play a round of disc golf.
  3. Follow our GPS tour – Adventure Lab.
  4. Climb the lookout hill to enjoy the view.
  5. Sit and enjoy the sunshine and breeze.
  6. Visit the big Oak tree by parking lot A
  7. Log your nature sightings on INaturalist.
  8. Find all 3 silos.
  9. Kids will enjoy driving one of our “red tractors”.
  10. Try some outdoor tai chi/ yoga or meditation.

Royal Botanical Gardens

As you venture along a 1-km accessible path, meet some larger-than-life magical beings who will share their stories and secrets about monarch butterflies. Become a butterfly guardian as you learn what you can do to help butterflies grow and thrive! Be sure to check out our pop-up Gift Shop located inside the Rock Garden Visitor Centre.
Recommended Audience: This guided interactive moving-theatre style tour is recommended for enchanted families with children aged 5 to 8 and will last approximately one hour. Click here
